Trade Bead Assortment-This is a beautiful assortment of African Trade Beads. Some old, some newer. Sand Cast, Millefiori, Glass, Chevron and more. I cleaned out the truck and all my broken strands and grabbed handfuls. Some got strung and some did not. Old Glass Beads-These old glass beads that came out of Africa are hand cut not machine cut. They are 24" long and very unique beads. Once they are cleaned the faceted beads have a ball room brilliancy that is just Glorious. Clay Burial Beads-These 34"+ strands of hand made clay burial beads were excavated out in Mali, West Africa. They have colors in browns and tans and wonderful different shapes. Look close at the different shapes. The beads are small and made well. African Christmas Beads-These beautiful and colorful Antique beads date from the early to mid 1800's possibly earlier. These strands are a wonderful mixture of very old glass trade beads. Many of them as you can see are very, very vibrant in color. The West African women have worn the beads around their waist under their clothes for their husbands. Hence they are called "Love Beads". I have even place several strands on my Christmas tree. |
